Umoyo Widows and Orphanage Center (UWAOC) is a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) founded in 2012 by Paulo Nyangu. The organization was born out of a deep desire to help widows, orphans and those who are less privileged — particularly in rural areas.
The widows and orphans center was founded by Mr Paulo Nyangu, who was first involved in prison ministries. He witnessed that the majority of inmates were young boys and girls who had grown up with aged grandmothers, lacking basic necessities — food, clothing, soap, sanitary pads and education.
Moved by compassion, Mr Nyangu set out to create a place where the elderly, women and orphans could receive the basics of life. The organization was officially registered on 10th June 2022 and continues to grow with a committed board of directors and staff.
Pure and true religion accepted by God — caring for widows and orphans.
